Day 9: Dare to Remember That God Gives Good Gifts to His Children
We serve a powerful, almighty God who has and will do the unimaginable for those who belong to Him. We know we can ask Him anything and he will answer. He may say no, yes, not right now, or maybe, but He will answer. It may not be what we want to hear, but it will always be what we need. Maybe your single and have been praying for your future husband for years and there’s no answer. I know it’s frustrating, but use this time to work on yourself and growing your relationship with God. We need to be who God called us to be before someone else steps into our lives.
I prayed and prayed for God to get me out of the job I had right after college. It took me a few months to realize that maybe I was put there for a reason. The job I am blessed with now was nothing short of a miracle. The year-long job before only developed and prepared me for the position I have now. I could not be more thankful. Waiting will teach you patience, which we all could use more of, and it forces us to put all our faith and trust in our Heavenly Father. Where it should be. He knows what He’s doing, He has amazing plans for you and me. There is already countless reminders of that promise.
‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
(Jeremiah 33:3)
“I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD: “LORD, save me!”
(Psalm 116:1-4)
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
(Matthew 7:7-11)
“If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
(Matthew 6:30-33)
